Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Senior Logistics Engineer will focus on improving current logistics processes through the identification and implementation of automation solutions, performance improvement strategies, waste elimination, and cost reduction initiatives. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, streamline workflows, and ensure that logistics systems meet company goals for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics engineering, process optimization, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize current logistics processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead initiatives to introduce automation tools and technologies in logistics operations.
• Design and implement strategies to enhance logistics performance, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics goals with overall business objectives.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor improvements and ensure targets are met.
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis to ensure proposed changes result in cost savings.
• Support teams in the adoption of new technologies and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards within logistics operations.
• Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain processes.
Experiences/Education
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, with a focus on optimization and automation.
• Proven experience in identifying, analyzing, and implementing cost reduction and performance improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of logistics software, automation tools, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and strategies to stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
