Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance of our company's facilities, equipment, and systems. This position requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in maintenance management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. The Senior Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, developing preventive maintenance strategies, and leading a team of technicians to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing advanced technical knowledge and expertise in maintenance practices, engineering principles, and equipment performance to guide maintenance teams and solve complex issues.
- Leading and coordinating major maintenance projects, including upgrades, installations, and overhauls, to ensure successful execution and minimal disruption to operations.
- Mentoring and coaching junior maintenance engineers and technicians, transferring technical knowledge and fostering professional development within the maintenance team.
- Utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures, malfunctions, or inefficiencies, and implementing effective solutions.
- Utilizing data-driven insights to monitor equipment performance, predict maintenance needs, and optimize maintenance schedules, enhancing equipment availability
- Collecting and analyzing maintenance data to generate advanced reports that provide insights into equipment performance, maintenance costs, and operational metrics.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules to minimize equipment breakdowns and unscheduled maintenance events.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination of maintenance efforts and timely response to maintenance requests.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record of leading maintenance teams, developing preventive maintenance strategies, and managing maintenance projects.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and generating reports.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Project management skills to effectively plan and execute maintenance projects within established timelines.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and a willingness to embrace new technologies and methodologies.
