What is your role?

As a Senior Measurement Engineer, you will develop, integrate, and support measurement and inspection systems that enable manufacturing teams to characterize products and verify compliance with customer requirements. You will collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to implement robust measurement solutions, improve process controls, and drive continuous improvement across optical manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and support measurement methods, inspection systems, and automation solutions to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
• Provide global technical support for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and equipment optimization.
• Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and apply statistical methods to improve measurement integrity, efficiency, quality, and yield.
• Lead technology transfers and deployment of measurement systems from development environments into manufacturing operations.
• Train engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel on measurement system operation, maintenance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to develop, procure, and implement advanced testing and inspection equipment.
• Lead and participate in projects focused on cost reduction, cycle time improvements, process optimization, and capacity expansion.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, specifications, and maintenance standards to support global manufacturing operations.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Science, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Measurement Engineering, Process Engineering, Visual Inspection Automation, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Experience working with fiber optics, optics, or optical engineering technologies.
• Hands-on experience with optical test equipment such as Light Sources, Power Meters, OTDRs, Interferometers, and related instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, DOE, SPC, MSA, GR&R, Measurement Uncertainty Analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, FMEA, PFMEA, and root-cause analysis techniques.
• Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Experience using CAD software for mechanical assemblies, drawings, optical layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Ability to work effectively in global technical teams in both leadership and contributor roles.

Experiences/Education - Desired

• Master's degree in Optical Sciences or a related field.
• Experience in optical metrology, particularly within fiber optic manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of microscopy, interferometry, optical refractometry, reflectometry, and related measurement disciplines.
• Experience with automated inspection systems, machine vision, process automation, and PLC programming.
• Understanding of computer-based measurement systems, data architectures, and automation technologies.
• Experience with optical fabrication processes and advanced optical testing techniques.
• Strong scientific curiosity, innovation mindset, and passion for continuous improvement.
