Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

  1. Purpose of Position    
  1. Coordinator is the voice of the customer in the plant/plants depending on the product families involved with the customer, and Planning POC of the product lines of the campus involved with the customer account
  2. Support business/customer's account growth by analyzing high level constraints and suggesting and leading projects to implement solutions, aligned with business metrics
  3. Ensure product lines are meeting customer expectations of:  on time to promise, target lead times and order dating as customer service champion by utilizing available resources and materials management techniques
  4. Follow up raw material flow from vendor/supplier maintaining partnerships. Interfaces between production and customer care representatives        
  5. Tactical and strategic planning for the specific customer demand


  1. Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position
  1. Promote, support and follow up on customer's score card perfomance vs goals of the product lines involved with the account.  Comply with Service Performance metrics: On Time to promise execution, meeting target lead times,  On time order dating, and desired inventory levels
  2. Active participaction in master production schedule of the product lines  to secure an appropiate balance of capacity and supply is in place, as well as leading the execution of the  appropiate workstreams when a shortfall is found
  3. Create, support & promote techniques to maintain system integrity (e.g. planning factors like leadtime schedule type, Safety Stock, planner code and/or buyer code)
  4. Communicates issues/concerns related to schedule changes caused by design problems, capacity limitation or material shortages, to appropriate levels within the organization
  5. Communicate customer priorities to the product family core team and follow up the plan to satisfy customer requirements
  6. Interact with product lines planners, customer care representatives, SCMs, PLM and Account Project Manager  at on-going basis
  7. Work actively with PLM to contribute on the efficiency of the forecasting of products
  8. Follow up the planners execution and troubleshoot of MRP messages and provide a recommendation to ensure raw material components from internal and external suppliers are ordered on time, according to our sales expectations (forecast)
  9. Comply with inventory levels and implement strategies to maintain it at optimum levels in order to optimize inventory turns, efficiencies and ensuring supply
  10. Engage on Lean Supply Chain efforts to establish strategies in order to reduce waste and ensure customer satisfaction
  11. Other tasks as assigned by Supply Chain Manager  
  12. Analyzes customer order requirement, production capacity and material availability to acknowledge shipping dates for assigned production lines
  13. Monitor components are received and forwarded to the manufacturing facility accurately and on a timmely manner
  14. Established and maintains communication with internal/external suppliers to improve lead times, and other issues concerning to raw materials
  15. Active participation on team work & leadership efforts, in order to optimise available resources as required by the SC manager

      6.     Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements


       A. Education

  • Bachelor’s Business Administration degree  or related field  
  • Bachelor’s Industrial, Mechanical, Logistics or Supply Chain related field
  • APICS, Green Belt or Lean Supply Chain certifications are desired              



           B. Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years planning experience
  • Experience SAP or ERP systems
  • Customer services & leadership skills
  • Analytical team player with excellent problem solving skills
  • Lean Supply Chain knowledge
  • Project work engagement
