Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs related to supply chain, and manufacturing analytics.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize complex data sets, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, providing actionable insights and recommendations to optimize and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilize your expertise in platforms such as SAP, SAP BW, Databricks, Excel, Sharepoint, to extract, transform, and load data for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to design and implement data models, utilizing SQL, DAX, M, Python for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Participate in data cleansing, data quality assessments, and data validation activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports and analyses.
  • Assist in documenting processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency within the analytics team.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Embrace a continuous learning mindset, proactively seeking opportunities to expand your skills and stay current in the field of data analytics.
  • Demonstrate a passion for problem-solving, critical thinking, and utilizing data to drive informed decision-making.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Process Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Advanced Level of Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Familiarity with data extraction from SAP, SAP BW, Excel, Sharepoint.
  • Experience with SQL for querying databases and retrieving relevant data.
  • Knowledge of DAX and M languages for data manipulation within Power BI and Power Query is a plus.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as Python is a plus.
  • Exposure to Data Science, Statistics and/or Machine Learning is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.
  • Good communication skills to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • A self-driven individual with a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity about data and a natural problem-solving aptitude.
  • Passion for contributing to business success through data-driven decision-making.
