Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of the Position:
As the Senior Specialist in Procurement for MRO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to support the purchasing of MRO goods and services. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient procurement processes and cost savings.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions for MRO.
  • Develop and review specifications, statements of work, performance terms, and accept/reject criteria.
  • Manage the procurement process for assigned commodities.
  • Develop and cultivate effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute Shared Objectives and Service Level Agreements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to achieve projects and goals.
  • Utilize eRFI, eRFP, e-auction, and other procurement tools.
  • Manage supplier setups in EMDV and Ariba.
  • Handle onboarding fees and waiver creation.
  • Request and review supplier documents in Ariba (Agreement, NDA, COI).
  • Provide supplier training for Ariba.
  • Prepare analysis data reports and presentations as requested.
  • Address invoice/payment issues, including match exceptions.
  • Lead projects related to MRO procurement.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across countries.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement area, specifically MRO purchasing or raw material.
  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in using procurement tools such as eRFI, eRFP, and e-auction platforms.
  • Experience with supplier setups in EMDV and Ariba.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings in procurement activities.
