Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The Sr. Specialist, Trade Compliance Process Documentation will play a pivotal role in directly creating and refining trade compliance documentation to support global trade compliance teams. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the company’s trade compliance operations are effectively documented and optimized for efficiency and compliance. This includes taking ownership of generating detailed process descriptions, and workflows, to capture business operations as they relate to trade compliance regulations. The individual will also support programs to develop, operate, and enhance Corning’s global logistics digitalization strategies while working as part of the Logistics Center of Excellence (CoE).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- · Collaborate with logistics operations teams and other supply chain and finance functions (planning, procurement, manufacturing, finance, and customer service) to gather and document work processes related to trade compliance.
- · Conduct interviews with stakeholders to collect accurate and detailed information regarding operational and compliance procedures.
- · Define, develop, and manage trade compliance documentation, including procedures, workflows, guidelines, and best practices.
- · Ensure all documentation is meticulously maintained, regularly reviewed, and updated through an approval process involving relevant stakeholders.
- · Create and maintain clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation using appropriate tools and methodologies.
- · Organize and store process documents to ensure easy accessibility for a global audience.
- · Review compliance procedures for accuracy and alignment with operational requirements.
- · Assist in planning and delivering training programs to ensure team members understand documented procedures.
- · Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders, acting as a liaison between departments to facilitate effective communication.
- · Allocate a minimum of 25% working hours to support US-based operations.
- · Travel required: 5%–10%.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or similar
Skills
- Professional experience or academic background in trade compliance, logistics, sourcing, operations, supplier management, or project management preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders and colleagues.
- 3-5 years of process documentation experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Collaborative skills for global teamwork and cross-functional work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
