Day to Day Responsibilities: (role within group / projects within group)

  • Provide comprehensive management for MRO Services & Waste Management in NA Region, in support of business units (BU) requirements, to include:
  • Support progress, rollout & implement principals of Waste Management: Less Waste, Pay Less, Earn More by applying Elimination, Value Optimization, Transformation, and Sustainability drivers.
  • Negotiate contracts with MRO Service & Waste Management providers. 
  • Develop Regional Strategy to support GSM Global, Category and Business cost saving objectives.
  • Identify and develop best-in-class value propositions for waste management cost recovery initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a disciplined process approach to LCC implementations.
  • Scope, lead, participate, and implement stakeholder and BU driven projects.
  • Prepare and present formal reports, presentations, & communications as needed to influence key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with designated Subject Matter Experts, Project Leaders, Category Owners, and Strategic Sourcing Managers on assigned projects, including the preparation and solicitation of competitive bids, quotes, & proposals with pertinent specifications, terms & conditions that provides advantages to Corning Businesses.
  • Own, maintain & develop comprehensive portfolio covering current & future cost-optimizing opportunities. 
  • Develop & ensure procurement risk mitigation plan for overall portfolio in alignment with stakeholder requirements.
  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and lead Quarterly Business Reviews monitoring both commercial & operational performances, benchmarked against SRM metrics.
  • Develop supplier network in response to global capacities (incl. emerging markets).
  • Consolidate and manage harmonized regional spend analytics.
  • Lead the critical analysis of global supply intelligence reports for assigned commodities (incl. relevant trade market intelligence reports, commodity price indices, up/down stream petrochemical market cycles, global market trends, and geopolitical factors) to then develop and communicate to stakeholders, fact-supported accurate should-cost modelling, competitive-cost sourcing, forecasting reports.
  • Identify key stakeholders within the value-chain, including strategic consortium partners, and develop leveraged spend opportunities.
  • Observe regulatory compliance requirements (incl. documentary) and monitor and advise potential impacts to BU of new and emerging legislations.
  • Develop, maintain and execute Shared Objectives in alignment with GSM Global Objectives.
  • Champion and advocate compliance to the Corning Global Buying Policy.
  • Communicate positively and constructively with team members locally and globally.

10.    Managerial and leadership experience.
11.    Lean Six-Sigma Black or Green Belt certified, APICS certified, and or MBA
12.    Experience with digital tools (supply chain visibility, data analytics, risk management)

  • Project management;
  • MRO Services Management (IFM, HVAC, Cafeteria, Transportation, Lease, Material Handling)
  • Waste Management: Recycling, Re-Use, WTE(waste-to-energy) or EFW(energy-from-waste), Hazardous, Non-Hazardous material and supply management
  • Exposure to leading cost country sourcing
  • Experience in / Exposure to manufacturing operations
  • Proven track record in cost reduction development and implementation;
  • Sound broad-based int’l business acumen and financial reporting.
