Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Supplier Diversity Specialist


Supplier Diversity specialist will help qualified diverse-owned companies to do business with Corning. This role will be responsible for identifying qualified diverse suppliers, creating and implementing diverse supplier development strategies, establishing processes around sourcing and contracting diverse suppliers, training GSM personnel on supplier diversity and executing processes, monitoring and reporting, assuring compliance with all government and regulatory requirements.  Participating in community facing outreach and coordinating and participation in outreach to supplier diversity national organizations (NMSDC, WBENC, NGLCC).


Include the following:

Works cross functionally with businesses, categories, services and our communities.   Assists in development and management of supplier diversity policies, training materials, and support of external page on  Tracks and monitors industry benchmark materials to ensure GSM organization understands latest trends.  Candidates will assist with the day to day operations of the Compliance and Supply Chain Sustainability Service working to meet our strategy objectives


  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal business partners to share best practices and understand and challenge business decisions to support supplier diversity goals and objectives
  • Participates in small to medium projects as assigned
  • Provides feedback and coaching to others
  • Provides training as required
  • Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information / materials
  • Meets discrete goals within established criteria (time, cost, quality)
  • Interacts with others at same level, and one level above and below, to ensure continuity and efficiency
  • Education & Experience required:  Bachelor’s degree required.  Desire experience in supplier diversity outreach, Sustainability, S2P, Category Management and project
  • Travel Requirements 25%
