Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The SC Process ensures that global planning processes (SIOP, capital planning, network and inventory optimization) are structured, standardized, aligned, and actionable. This role supports effective decision-making by enabling consistent planning practices that connect long-term strategy with operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for global supply chain planning processes.
  • Own processes of SIOP, long-term capital planning (iMAX), network strategy (Where to Make), and Inventory Optimization.
  • Support Global Supply Chain organization in the creation of strategic initiatives, communications, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of planning processes, identifying opportunities.
  • Own the design, governance, and continuous improvement of global planning processes to ensure scalability, standardization, and integration across business units.
  • Collaborate with Global Planning Directors to align planning processes with product line and customer-specific supply chain strategies.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Optimization team to leverage advanced planning platforms for process enablement and analytics.
  • Support change management efforts for planning initiatives and process transformations globally.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, operations, or strategy roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment globally.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience with change management and process improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain or Operations).
  • Strong understanding of advanced planning systems (preferably Kinaxis or similar APS platforms).
  • Familiarity with capital planning tools and long-term investment planning processes.
  • Certification in APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or similar supply chain credentials.
