Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of Position.
This role will lead transformative supply chain projects to realize Global Supply Chain’s strategy. Embracing lean principles and advanced digital tools, you will be instrumental in driving customer value, and innovation. Through a strong emphasis in collaborative partnerships and organizational change management, this roll will optimize processes, champion continuous improvement, and implement optimal solutions that improve efficiency, service, and cost-effectiveness.
Major responsibilities and tasks of the position.
- Lead projects from inception to completion to shape best-in-class supply chain models.
- Engage with internal customers to ensure value-add solutions.
- Ensure successful project delivery by collaborating with various teams within Corning and external partners.
- Lead the creation of comprehensive documents outlining business and systems requirements.
- Evaluate and propose optimal solutions based on customer value and strategic objectives to optimize supply chain operations effectively.
- Support change management activities and lead training for new solutions and processes.
Education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- PMP, Six Sigma, Lean or CSCP certifications are a plus.
Work Experience
- +5years of supply chain experience, including project implementation.
- Expertise in supply chain operations such as forecasting, planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, or transportation.
- Proven track record of leveraging ERP and Supply Chain Management solutions to drive operational excellence.
- Proficiency in project management skills, methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership in successful supply chain operations projects, digital transformation, or system implementations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset to identify customer value and leverage data for decision-making.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts.
