Position Summary 

The AMER SC Strategist and Inventory Champion is responsible for defining, coordinating, and driving supply chain strategies across the AMER region, ensuring optimal inventory levels, product availability, and operational efficiency. This role serves as a key link between planning, operations, demand, procurement, logistics, and commercial teams to balance service levels, working capital, and business continuity. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies for the AMER region aligned with business objectives. 

  • Lead inventory optimization initiatives to improve product availability while reducing excess, obsolescence, and stockout risks. 

  • Monitor and analyze key inventory, demand, supply, and service performance indicators. 

  • Define inventory policies and parameters, including safety stock levels, reorder points, and target inventory coverage. 

  • Coordinate with demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure effective execution of supply chain strategies. 

  • Identify supply chain risks and drive preventive and corrective actions to minimize business impact. 

  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and supply chain resilience. 

  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes by providing visibility into inventory positions and supply constraints. 

  • Develop scenario analyses and strategic recommendations to respond to demand fluctuations, market changes, or operational disruptions. 

  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to ensure alignment in processes, standards, and best practices. 

  • Lead or participate in transformation, digitalization, and automation projects related to inventory and supply chain management. 

  • Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy to support effective decision-making. 

 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 

  • Master’s degree or specialization in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business is preferred. 

Experience 

  • Solid experience in supply chain, inventory planning, demand planning, supply planning, or logistics. 

  • Experience working in regional or multinational environments. 

  • Experience in inventory management, data analysis, and strategic decision-making. 

  • Experience in continuous improvement, operational transformation, or process implementation is preferred. 

Technical Knowledge 

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes. 

  • Advanced knowledge of inventory metrics such as inventory turns, DOH, fill rate, service level, forecast accuracy, backorders, and excess & obsolete inventory. 

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and data analysis tools. 

  • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools are preferred. 

  • Knowledge of S&OP / IBP methodologies. 

  • Inventory optimization and scenario modeling knowledge is preferred.
