Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position. 
Able to carry out time and movement studies for the elaboration of routes that maximize the efficiency of the process, responsible for analyzing statistical data of receipts and consumption of materials for the optimization of the standard cost of the products, coordinate the portfolio of cost reduction and carry out activities that ensure compliance with the goal of the RCC cost portfolio.
 

Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position. 

  1. Administration and coordination of the Cost reduction portfolio.
  2. Data analysis for optimization of routings and standard cost.
  3. Develop cost models for the annual cost roll in time, ensuring the precision of costs and standard uses.
  4. Support part number extensions and new derivative part number introduction in SAP
  5. Keep updated and accurate uses, fixed waste, scrap percentages and routings for each product family.
  6. Able to use principles of calculation and advanced mathematics in the analysis, design and resolution of problems.
  7. Participate in continues improvements projects.

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  1. Education.
  • Bachelor of science degree in an engineering field or equivalent                                                        

B. Work Experience.

  • 2 - 4 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.

C. Additional Skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic business/manufacturing environment.
  • Master PC skills using software packages (Project, Power Point, Excel, Word).   
  • Knowledge of SAP (inventories, consumption, BOM’s, routings, etc)           
  • Good presentation skills.
