The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. Lead manufacturing activities to achieve efficient operations directing and supervising the performance of individuals and team of associates who put together components to make assemblies or process raw materials into finished products in an industrial environment in order to exceed Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Safety goals


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Major responsibilities and tasks of the position.<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> 

  1. Lead  manufacturing activities to achieve efficient operations
    1. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Productivity Analysis and Improvement Plans
    2. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Implement update and maintain Flex Staffing Model (Where applicable)
    3. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure to have staff capacity and equipment according to demand
    4. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure keeping up to date capacity levels in SAP in agreement with the S&OP requirements and the actual order entry
    5. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Support Value Stream Map creation  and Maintenance
    6. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead daily  Core Team meetings
    7. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead the core team to meet and exceed bussiness unit goals and metrics
    8. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maintain close surveillance over manufacturing activities  through reports, meetings and continuous feedback
  2. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Assure data driven efficient  utilization and achievement of
    1. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Budget, personnel, equipment and facilities
    2. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">VOH,FOH and materials cost
    3. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Stretch cost target goals
  3. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Assure frequent revisions, active participation and improvement plans on
    1. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Profit and loss statements to identify opportunities of improvement
    2. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Product Line Team meetings
    3. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Weekly meetings
    4. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Performance Review of Operations meetings
    5. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Coaching plans for other Supervisors to help them understand their role in the achievement of QCDMS metrics
    6. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead and participate with the team for corrective and preventive actions resolution within the alloted timeframe
  4. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead or support projects for cost reduction and/or area initiatives and cost reduction projects
  5. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Assist on the preparation of executive and  staff presentations (participate-when applicable)
  6. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Focus on delivering changes through people development and management
  7. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Accomplishes manufacturing results by coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  8. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personell;accomplishing work results;establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems;reporting results of processing flow on shift production summaries
  9. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maintains manufacturing information updated
  10. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drive improvements and maintain  safe culture and clean work in compliance with established policies, procedures, 5’s culture and safety
  11. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; internal benchmarking.
  12. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Manage vacations and attendance for direct reports
  13. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Point of contact for new product/process introductions to ensure safety, ergonomics, 5’s and productivity goals are met
  14. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead and participate on TPM and Lean activities
  15. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Assurance of the certification and training of  all personnel assigned
  16. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Coordinate monthly PSA inventories activities, keeping track of the discrepancies of PSA inventories (SAP)
  17. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participate in the TL9000, ISO 14000 audits to keep the certification.
  18. <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Contribute in corrective and preventive actions documentation, implementation and execution

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"> 
<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"> A. Education.

  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent    
  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Master degree (preferred)                                            

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">B. Work Experience.

  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">5 years of experience in the Manufacturing field
  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">3 or more years of experience in leading and/or supervising personnel

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">C. Skills.

  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Proficient English and Spanish
  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Understanding and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping (Basic/Preferred)
  • <span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Green Belt Certified (Basic/Preferred)
