Position Scope (Breadth of work required by the job)

Corning’s Global Supply Management Supply Chain Solutions Services (SCS) provides standardization, governance and thought leadership for Supply Chain Production Planning (PTP) processes in the SAP’s S/4 HANA platform. In this role, SCS Manager brings SAP S/4 HANA PTP process expertise for deployment projects in order to translate business supply chain requirements into technical system solutions.  He / she identifies and recommends appropriate SAP S/4 HANA system settings and requirements necessary to realize business planning process needs and validates these through rigorous testing. Last, but not least the SCS Manager documents and delivers training and drives, as a functional leader, group of experienced users (Power users) in the business.

SCS Manager is also responsible for PTP process ownership, leading and owning global change management in PTP area and developing the documentation with best in class practices and recommendations. He / she acts as single point of contact (SPOC) for functional, requirements, improvements and issues resolution for regional Corning businesses and end users.   

Lastly SCS Manager documents and transfers planning process knowledge and recommendations to power users/user responsible to execute the business process steps during and after SAP S4 Hana system deployments.

 

Position Description (Role purpose and day-to-day responsibilities)

  • Own and deliver PTP subject matter expertise / stream leadership in SAP S4 Hana deployments. Represent PTP in other projects.
  • Champion and promote use of standard planning processes.
  • Document business requirements not met by the platform’s capability.  Assist business process owners to build a process innovation pipeline including in business cases when standards do not meet business requirements
  • Develop and document of PTP standard processes including best practices and recommendations
  • Delivery of PTP knowhow and trainings to end / Business users. Buildup of Business Power Users and PTP BPOs organization.
  • Ongoing Process improvement work with stakeholders to identify opportunities in PTP process area. Leverage process mapping for as-is & to-be status build. Driving alignment on improvements roadmap and implementation execution
  • Actively contributes to the S/4 HANA Operational support organization as a PTP subject matter expert for questions and issued identified by a business

 

Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

  • 5 – 8 yrs. working expertise in ERP system - SAP ECC / S4 Hana 
  • Deep function business process expertise and understanding in Supply Chain, Logistics and Planning (for purchasing, manufacturing) areas
  • Communication skills (up / down and across org to Business)
  • Project and Change Managment experience
  • Problem solving, analytical skills, exceptional follow through
  • Initiative and effectively manage self through a fast-paced environment

  • Subject matter expertise in business Supply Chain Plan-to-Produce (PtP) processes and capability stream

Education & Experience required

  • BA / BS degree (ideally Business or Supply Chain)

 

Travel Requirements (domestic and/or international)

  • Ability to work remotely and ability to travel to international locations for duration of up to 2 weeks at a time.
  • Travel will constitute 15% of the role
