Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Tooling Engineer

Purpose of Position.            

Tooling Engineer Band B provides day to day Engineering support to the Tooling Department giving dimensional information of the molds as well as design and process engineering repair and Engineering changes implementation. 

Responsibilities

  • Mold Design  
  • ECs Implementation 
  • Develop of Mold Repair  
  • Provide Mold information to the Workshop 
  • Provide Support to the Technicians at Workshop 
  • Manage Molds Information 
  • Develop of New Projects 
  • Support plant projects 
  • Report daily work 
  • Ensure 5s requirements  
  • Develop of RFQ for mold repair and EC Implementation 
  • Quote analysis  
  • Preparation of molds for shipping 
  • Mold problem Analysis at molding machine 
  • New Molds Inspection 
  • Keep cutting tools stock 
  • Supervise the quality of the electrodes and machined parts 
  • Tracking of new molds meetings 
  • CNC Programming  
  • Laser Welder
  • Machining Equipment Operation (Milling, grinding, lathe, etc.) 
  • Prepare Mold Maintenance List 
  • Corrective Mold Maintenance Analysis 
  • Preventive Mold Maintenance Analysis 
  • Mold parts Inspection 
  • Maintaining efficiency in the molds 
  • Injection molding tools issues analysis and improving

 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

Education.

  • Bachelor Degree             

Work Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Tooling Engineering, experience as mold technician.
  • Knowledge and operation of a diversity of molding equipment (thermolators, dryers, Injection Molding machines, Cranes, Mold changeovers, etc.
  • English skills is required
