Purpose of Position  

Responsible for closure product line in APAC region. And support EMEA Closures PLM to execute a product line strategy that supports the achievement of desired target.

Work together with APAC PnP / CAB Product manager to achieve profitable growth

 

Major Responsibility  

Work closely with APAC PnP and CAB Product manager on business development. And mainly focus on APAC CAB local account profitable growth.

Organize APAC carrier network project hunting list review meeting, and focus on closure, copper and other key product business development.

Responsible for Other Asia local account business development and build internal process to achieve profitable growth.

Responsible for APAC closure, and develops product ideas and proposes and execute produce lifecycle management plans and participates and leads the development of the product line strategy.

Analyzes product and market data.

Carries out / champions effective, timely product launches.

Implements with plant global releases in Shanghai plant, jointly with EMEA and NAFTA teams.

Develops and deploys effective product value propositions

Assists internal teams in product, quality, and service issues to lead to a quick resolution for the customer, balancing the needs of Corning and the customer. 

Optimizes inventory management by coordinating information flow as needed between Forecasting, Sales, Supply Change Management, Manufacturing, and other parties.

Identifies opportunities to reduce complexity and cost reduction in the manufacturing process both at Corning plants and the customer site.

Understands downstream market requirements and understands and assesses competitive solutions and threats and implications for the business.

Visit customers with Sales/ Marketing/Program Management in order to introduce or gather customer requirements, voice of the customer and present product offerings.

Optimizes floor pricing levels with RPO by establishing pricing strategy, optimizing product premiums, and ensuring value received for product line in team with Pricing Team.

Proposes, develops and deploys promotions jointly with sales and marketing. 

Creates short-term and long-term forecasts within their responsibilities, and teams with SCM and manufacturing to deliver products timely.

Leads PLM elements of project bid.

Executes the product line plan, including leadership or participation in critical projects to be undertaken for the year.

Secures closure training of Sales Team

 

Education & Experience  

Degree/Bachelor’s or similar degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Training/Education cable assembly, optical connectivity or networking preferred

Experience in Product Line Management or related roles is preferred.

Experience in Technical Sales & Marketing roles are of value.

Experience around the Data Center is a plus.

 

Required Competency

Demonstrated track record of managing projects.

Demonstrated track record of leading and/or actively participating in multi-functional teams.

Fluent English written and spoken. Chinese language also preferred. Knowledge of additional Asian language knowledge is a plus.

Good knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and MS Office in general

Optical Industry Acumen is a plus

Experience in Matrix Management & reporting

Technology around the Data Center including cabling and actives/networking are a plus
