As a leading developer, manufacturer, and global supplier of scientific laboratory products for 100 years, Corning’s Life Sciences segment collaborates with researchers seeking new approaches to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and compress timelines in the drug discovery process. Using unique expertise in the fields of materials science, surface science, optics, biochemistry and biology, the segment provides innovative solutions that improve productivity and enable breakthrough discoveries.

Role Purpose

Conduct systematic product performance testing, support product localization with objective data, provide comprehensive evaluations for new product development, explore more application areas of existing products, facilitate internal and external training to enhance product understanding, and analyze customer issues to deliver effective solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage research projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery of projects goals.
  • Hand-on execution of experiments on the bench, deliver reliable experimental results for the various development projects; troubleshoot issues that arise.
  • Analyze experimental data, generate comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Provide product and technology training for both local customers and oversea customers.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Master’s degree or above, prefer PHD.
  • Major in cell and molecular biology, immunology or related subjects.
  • At least 2 years of industrial work experience or academic research experience for those with a Master’s degree.
  • Excellent laboratory, record-keeping, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to plan, execute and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Experience in immunotherapy, stem cell culture/differentiation, or protein/antibody/virus production is preferred.
  • Experience with the development and optimization of cell culture media is preferred.
  • Experience in CRO or CDMO projects is preferred.
  • Working experience in global company labs is preferred.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to work successfully in a cross-functional and highly collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills with the desire to work collaboratively and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and scientific data presentation.
  • Good training and presentation skills both in Chinese and English.
