The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Responsibilities
• Data Ingestion & Orchestration: Design, develop, and maintain production-grade data ingestion pipelines with workflow orchestration capabilities for complex data processing and scheduling (experience with Apache Airflow/AWS MWAA and Databricks Workflow preferred)
• Data Architecture Implementation: Build and optimize data processing pipelines following medallion architecture patterns (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers), ensuring data quality and governance at each stage (Delta Lake or Databricks experience preferred)
• Data Pipeline Development: Create scalable, modular, and reusable data pipelines for both batch and streaming data processing using distributed computing frameworks (Apache Spark, Delta Lake, PySpark experience preferred)
• Business Requirement Translation: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and independently design technical solutions that align with business objectives
• Pipeline Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to resolve data pipeline failures
• GenAI Development: Explore and implement GenAI solutions including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) applications, LangChain, and LangGraph
Required Qualifications
Essential Technical Skills
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering with focus on:
• Data ingestion and workflow orchestration (Apache Airflow/AWS MWAA experience highly preferred)
• Building and managing data pipelines in cloud environments
• Implementing data lakehouse architectures and medallion patterns
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL for data manipulation and DAG for workflow orchestration
• Experience with AWS services: S3, CloudWatch, DataSync, Lambda, EC2, IAM, and familiar with how to use Terraform code to build and manage those services.
• Agile software development & CI/CD methodologies along with supporting tools such as Gitlab
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with GenAI technologies: LangChain, LangGraph, Vector Databases
• Knowledge of RAG implementation and LLM integration
Education Requirements
• Bachelor degree , major in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

• Independent problem solver, Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of data pipeline lifecycle
• Capability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, especially in the GenAI space
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams while maintaining individual accountability
