Purpose of the position
• Lead continuous improvement activities to improve production line quality and process capability.
• Lead new product or process introductions and cost reduction projects.
• Lead fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives.
• Lead the development and execution of plans to evaluate new technology or improvements in existing technology resulting in a superior product in terms of quality and/or cost.
• Lead the rapid-response team to support customer's new product requirements.
• Understands Corning's Intellectual property management processes and follows that process in documenting any intellectual property developed as part of a project.
• Create and maintain BOM for regular products.
• Production process routine time planning and maintenance and product total cost valuation
• Order review and ECN screening.
• Work with team members to solve difficult technical and engineering related problems.
Day to day responsibilities
- Continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
- Responsibly for ECN screening
- Support other manufacturing functions assigned by supervisor from time to time
- Complete assigned projects that include working process improvement, material utilization optimize and assigned specific department coordinator’s work.
- Provide day-to-day technical support & problem-solving for production, development and research operations, like localization, material substitution, etc.
- Train trainer on new equipment and processes
- Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps
- Function as a team member or team leader on focused projects
- Implement and document material, process and/or equipment changes
- Create and modify assembly and flyer drawings. Create and modify drawings as part of raw material specifications
- Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement; Uses more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement
Education and experience
- Bachelor of Chemical or Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- At least 5 years experiences in process engineering or other related manufacturing engineering area including process, material, control, mechanical and Chemical.

- Know EHS relevant law and regulations
- Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).

- Optical fiber, connector assembly and test knowledge and experience
- DMAIC practice experience
- Track record of delivering results
- Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field
- Project team membership
- Familiar with ERP system.
- Familiar with quality, EH&S management system such as ISO9001, ISO14001.
- Familiar with process/quality/cost control and improvement tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, TQM, IE, seven quality tools, MCV etc.
- Good written and oral English communication.
- Good PC skills such as Microsoft office.

- Self-motivate, independent, willing to work under pressure.
