Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Purpose of the Position:

•    Responsible for leading Human Resource generalist activities for the Display China commercial organization.
•    partner with Display China commercial leadership to develop and support talent strategies to achieve desired business objectives. 
•    Additionally, provide local support to divisional functions in China and own local HR policies and procedures for relevant activities in the DHQ entity.

Scope of Position

•    Partner with CDTC Commercial leaders and ensure the successful implementation of CDT China HR business processes in the region
•    Ensure Corporate, Division, China region, cross BUs/ regions talent programs deployed in the business groups to accelerate talent capability level-up and leadership pipeline build-up to support business strategy
•    Ensures the business groups establishes and maintains a positive work environment, operates and live Corning Values
•    Scales the type and level of HR service provided to business groups in anticipation of the specific needs of operational excellence and in conjunction with the business strategy

Day to Day Responsibilities:

•    Collaborates with CDTC Commercial leaders to prioritize current and future talent requirements which could affect achievement of strategic objectives
•    Establishes plan and takes actions required to address key talent gaps, ensuring the organization has the right people in the right place at the right time
•    Partners with CDTC Commercial Leaders to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition that enables the business to attract and retain talent
•    Effectively deploys performance management and rewards processes/practices to drive required levels of employee accountability for desired performance results and ensure retention of top performers
•    Support CDTC Commercial leaders in development and implementation of required programs and processes to establish and maintain a positive work environment
•    Collaborates closely with the CDT China HR team, COEs to ensure standardization across the business and ensure type and level of services fully support business objectives
•    Serves as the local HR lead for the DHQ legal entity, with overall responsibility for daily local HR operations and on-site HR support
•    Oversee key HR operations in coordination with remote/shared HR support teams and directly manage on-site HR activities requiring local presence.

Education & Experience & Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development, labor relations or equivalent; Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications – preferred
•    8 years+ of HR experience (generalist/specialist combined)
•    Work experience supporting multiple functions in MNCs
•    Successful track record in leading team and project
•    Work experience in leading and implementing effective organization structures and work processes that improve client group ability to achieve desired results
•    Successful track record in the deployment of regional HR business processes or programs
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
