Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Description Scope of the Position:

• Dating order in Ariba for SHOCS and manage ASN.

• Create NAFTA drop shipment documents in SAP and work on GR and PGI.

• PTA number management, secure goods are shipped on time.

• Select the right forwarder when the volume reaches the agreed volume with forwarders.

• Shipping status follow-up and tracking with PBI report supporting.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 1. End to end logistic management based on Incoterm.

• Understand the end-to-end logistic flow between each regions and plants.

• Understand the volume and weights to the cost impacts.

• Coordinate with IM plants for fast delivery.

2. Overall documents management through SAP and Ariba system

• Date PO in Ariba, update the confirmed delivery date once it changes. Ensure data can be updated in real-time with 100% accuracy

• Follow drop shipment process in SAP and create NAFTA documents on time.

• GR and PGI in SAP system under plant 8004.

• ASN maintenance when goods are ready for shipment.

3. Collaborate with Supply Chain and sourcing to ensure accurate delivery performance at lowest cost.

• Use right service level to meet the delivery date request with cost effectiveness.

• Map the forwarder service level and ask for improvement when deviation happens.

• Work with Supply Chain team to expedite the shipment when customer asks.

 4. Establish scorecard for our managed forwarders and continuous improvement.

• Setup scorecard for our forwarder and manage on monthly basis.

• Work with packing and logistic team to drive cost reduction initiatives.

• Process improvement from end to end.

 5. Reporting:

• Shipping reports and its status.

• Logistic spending.

• Service level.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, logistics

At least 2 years’ experience at logistic related positions and project management is a plus. 

Having experience working in a multinational company is a plus Required Skills 

Fluent English speaking/writing is a must

Good project management skill. 

Impeccable attention to detail, passion for processes improvement, systems and data handling 

 Working experience in ERP system, SAP or other systems.

High sense of responsibility and initiatives, self-motivated, good team player and the ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations.

Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high-energy environment

Flexibility to work across multiply time-zone in multiple languages, flexibility to balance the working time between US calendar and Chinese calendar. Desired Skills

Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

Soft Skills 

Good communication and negotiation skill.

Good understanding of culture different between different countries.
