Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contract Manufacturing Strategy:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for contract manufacturing aligned with business and product roadmaps
- Identify and qualify new contract manufacturers globally or regionally
- Support make-versus-buy decisions and capacity planning initiatives • Supplier Selection & Qualification
- Lead RFQ/RFP/RFI processes for contract manufacturing services
- Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and capability evaluations
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, compliance, ESG, and regulatory requirements
• Commercial & Contract Management:
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, tooling, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms
- Draft, review, and manage manufacturing contracts, NDAs, and MSAs in coordination with legal teams
- Establish cost models and drive year-over-year cost improvement initiatives
• Supplier Relationship Management Act as primary interface between the company and contract manufacturers Monitor supplier performance against KPIs (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness) Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and continuous improvement plans
• Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineering, quality, operations, logistics, and finance teams Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and production transfer activities Resolve supplier-related issues impacting production, quality, or timelines
• Risk & Compliance Management Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and ethical sourcing standards Support business continuity planning and dual sourcing initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply management
- Experienced in managing or developing global category strategies, ideally within industrial subcontracting, industrial outsourcing
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills
- Strong stakeholder communication and engagement skills.
- Experience with supplier audits, cost modeling, and contract management Soft Skills
