Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation, qualification, deployment, and sustainment of measurement and inspection systems for fiber optic products across manufacturing sites in the Americas.
- Lead or support product, equipment, and technology transfers between sites and regions, ensuring measurement systems are properly defined, installed, validated, and documented for manufacturing use.
- Drive standardization of measurement methods, equipment settings, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation across sites to improve consistency and repeatability.
- Plan and execute measurement system qualification activities, including measurement system analysis, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, capability studies, and method correlation.
- Troubleshoot complex measurement- and equipment-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, reduce measurement error, and support manufacturing performance.
- Lead or support improvement initiatives related to reliability, automation, error reduction, efficiency, and operational readiness of measurement systems.
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures, work instructions, technical specifications, qualification records, and training materials.
- Train and support engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on measurement systems, methods, standard practices, and transfer readiness.
- Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to align requirements, share best practices, and ensure successful deployment and sustainment of measurement systems.
- Provide regional technical support for startup activities, escalations, and implementation issues at manufacturing sites.
Experiences&Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Mechanics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in measurements, process engineering, or a related role.
Required Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of measurement systems and hardware used in manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience with measurement system analysis, gauge repeatability and reproducibility, capability studies, and measurement standardization activities.
- Experience supporting implementation, qualification, troubleshooting, or transfer of equipment and measurement systems in manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently resolve technical issues in manufacturing environments.
- willingness to grow as a technical subject matter expert.
- Effective communication skills in English and ability to work with global teams.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting equipment, product or technology transfers in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with fiber optic products or inspection systems.
- Demonstrated application of measurement science in the fields of fiber optics, surface profiling interferometry, microscopy, optical refractometry and/or other optical or physical measurement disciplines.
- Working and demonstrated applied knowledge of fiber optic cable assembly measurement equipment related but not limited to: optical attenuation, reflectometry, surface profile interferometry, and video microscopy (end-face inspection).
- Scientific curiosity and interest in continuous improvement.
