Role Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mobility/Immigration/Comp & Benefits Operations Specialist – APAC to support the delivery of immigration, mobility, tax services and potential C&B related functions across the Asia-Pacific region. This role will be responsible for managing immigration processes, international assignments, relocations, and compliance requirements for employees moving into, out of, and within APAC as well as potential C&B related functions.

The candidate will have strong knowledge of APAC immigration frameworks, mobility policies, vendor coordination, and employee support practices. Any C&B related experience will be a plus. This role requires close collaboration with HR, legal, payroll, tax, finance, government affairs, business leaders, and external service providers to ensure a seamless and compliant employee mobility experience.

Key Responsibilities

Immigration Management

• Coordinate visa, work permit, residence permit, and related application processes with external counsel and immigration vendors.

• Manage end-to-end immigration processes for employees requiring work authorization across APAC countries.

• Track case progress, expiration dates, renewals, and compliance requirements.

• Provide internal briefings and education sessions to HR and business stakeholders on immigration regulation changes, policy updates, and market-specific developments, highlighting potential business impacts, operational considerations, and required actions.

• Provide immigration support for critical business projects, including urgent deployments, project-based assignments, and time-sensitive workforce movements, ensuring timely and compliant mobilization of employees.

Global Mobility Support

• Partner with business leaders, HR, Talent Acquisition, and other stakeholders early in the planning stage to assess mobility feasibility, policy applicability, immigration constraints, compliance risks, estimated costs, and expected timelines.

• Provide consultative support on different mobility scenarios, including project-based deployments, international assignments, transfers, business travel, and other cross-border work arrangements.

• Evaluate mobility-related risks and operational constraints in advance of deployment and recommend compliant, practical, and business-aligned solutions.

• Oversee and coordinate external mobility service providers to ensure relocation, assignment, and cross-border support services are delivered effectively, in line with policy, service expectations, and business requirements.

• Review vendor outputs, monitor progress, and ensure stakeholders receive accurate information and timely updates throughout the mobility lifecycle.

• Work proactively with HR and business stakeholders during employee deployment to anticipate issues, identify risks, and provide recommendations to support smooth execution and employee experience.

• Act as an early-warning partner by proactively identifying potential issues, risks, or bottlenecks in mobility cases, critical business projects, and time-sensitive deployments, and providing timely visibility to the APAC Mobility Manager before they escalate into larger problems.

•  Continuously benchmark external market practices, regulatory developments, and mobility trends to identify opportunities for policy enhancement, process optimization, and improved stakeholder support.

• Partner proactively with internal supporting functions, including Total Rewards, HR, payroll, tax, legal, and other relevant teams, to help identify and address mobility- and immigration-related compliance considerations across APAC.

• Escalate complex or high-risk cases to Asia Total Rewards and Mobility leadership as appropriate.

• Assist in audits, reporting, and documentation reviews related to tax, mobility and immigration activities.

• Maintain data privacy, document accuracy, and confidentiality in handling employee records and case information.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management

• Serve as a key point of contact for employees, managers, HR business partners, recruiters, and external vendors.

Policy, Process, and Reporting

• Support the implementation and administration of global mobility and C&B, immigration and tax policies for APAC.

Competencies (knowledge, skills, and behaviors)

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years of Mobility/Immigration/Tax related working experience; experience managing Southeast Asia (SEA) immigration and mobility matters is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use digital tools and reporting platforms effectively to manage data, generate insights, and support decision-making.
  • Successful track record in partnering with external providers / vendor management
  • Strong communications skills, negotiation and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume, and culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to work successfully across different countries, stakeholders, and ways of working.
  • Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Proficient in verbal and written English language skills
  • Able to travel within China and Asia as required by project and work demands
  • Any C&B related experience is a plus.
