Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day to Day Responsibility

-    Lead and manage the Plant Engineering team to support daily plant operations and long-term improvement initiatives.
-    Drive product and process improvement projects to enhance quality, productivity, yield, and cost efficiency.
-    Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, and waste reduction.
-    Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing stability.
-    Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transfer from development to mass production.
-    Develop and implement engineering solutions to improve equipment utilization, process capability, and manufacturing performance.
-    Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for product and process-related issues.
-    Establish and maintain engineering standards, SOPs, process documentation, and technical specifications.
-    Manage capital investment and engineering projects, including equipment upgrade, process modification, and facility improvement.
-    Monitor key engineering and operational KPIs, and drive continuous improvement based on data analysis.
-    Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
-    Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical capability and problem-solving skills.

Education & Experience

-    Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
-    At least 8 years experience in optical/electronic/telecom/ mechanical production or other related manufacturing engineering area.
-    At least 5 years or proven management experience in leading teams and departments in meeting product improvement, process improvement, and manufacturing engineering.
-    Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
-    Good knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and project management.
-    Familiar with manufacturing processes, production equipment, and plant engineering practices.
-    Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-    Ability to work effectively across different functions and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
-    Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Experiences/Education - Required

Required by Legal or QEHS:

-    Well understand and master the major environmental and safety factors involved in the department
-    Know EHS relevant law and regulations 
-    Setup and manage function EHS objectives 
-    Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).
