Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing APAC S&OP process, long term capacity planning, and communicating customer demand.
- Develop and deploy inventory strategies that align with OCS’ best practices and maximizes value to Corning
- Manages and optimizes work center capacities based upon demand.
- Support APAC’s Partnership Meeting (S&OP) and iMax review
- Ensures effective communication with Global counterparts to realize global flexibility.
- Coordinate activities with plant and global resources to maximize speed and flexibility.
- Support Demand Management meetings as required for products.
- Support development and execution of Supply Chain agility plans.
- Represent manufacturing in forecast consensus meeting to balance statistical forecast with commercial inputs.
- Work with forecasting team to provide best possible MPS/MRP plans to plant through SAP or other ERPs
- Assure effective implementation of planning strategies to optimize inventory and customer service metrics.
- Co-work with manufacturing facilities on inventory management and stock plan to ensure optimal MPS settings and inventory targets aligned to the project framework and global target.
- Leverage LEAN and DMAIC methodology to lead projects on continuous process improvement for key product lines from suppliers to customers
- Participates and support cost saving initiatives.
- Participates in product team meetings as required.
- Advise product team on critical considerations related to product life-cycle.
- Assist in the development of supply chain strategy and roadmap.
- Comply with company objectives and goals on Safety and EHS requirement. Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).

Education & Experience
- Bachelors’ Degree (Supply Chain major preferred)
- 5+ years of Supply Chain (Plan, Make, Source, and Deliver) Experience
- 2+ years of International/Multi-National Experience

- Demonstrated proficiency in MPS/MRP planning in a modern ERP system
- Strong communication in a multi-national; multi-cultural environment
- Effective presentation skills; translating complex data into easy to understand actionable information
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of inventory management
- Ability to motivate a team daily and to achieve long term goals
- Ability to direct, manage, and work with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic business and manufacturing environment
- Capable of prioritizing and executing multiple tasks
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and solve complex process problems
- Ability to change priorities and tasks when necessary
- Ability to drive strategic vision for the Contract Manufacturing and APAC planning team
- Demonstrated ability to use LEAN and DMAIC techniques
- Fluent in English, both written and oral
- Strong SAP knowledge

- MBA or equivalent
- APICS Certification (advanced Planning and Inventory Control)
