Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day to Day Responsibilities
•    Assess and prioritize purchase requisitions submitted by various departments to ensure timely action. 
•    Lead assigned direct and indirect materials for preform, manage cost reduction projects;
•    Work with sourcing team and plant team to develop contingency plans to minimize risks and ensure uninterrupted plant operations for key materials. 
•    Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining quality standards
•    Leads and executes ERP's on assigned materials.
•    Resolves contract, quality, payment or other supply/service issues with suppliers and end users when required.
•    Monitor and analyze procurement costs to identify opportunities for savings and cost optimization..
•    Negotiate with potential and/or major suppliers to obtain maximum value.
•    Evaluate suppliers' delivery timelines, product quality, and reliability based on agreed-upon contracts.
•    Supplier relation management on assigned materials;
•    Support/coordinate new material qualification, and Supplier base optimization;
•    Work closely with plant teams to prevent stockouts or overstocking of raw materials, parts, or supplies.
•    Learn the procurement tools and guide procurement team;
•    Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
•    Generate daily or weekly procurement reports for management, summarizing activities, costs, and supplier performance.
•    Champion Global Buying Policy and ensure the compliance
•    Lead and supervise the procurement team, providing direction and support to ensure efficiency.

 

Education & Experience 
•    Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management/ technical or materials field
•    +3 years working experience in plant supply chain or procurement function;
•    Experience in raw material management and developing and implementing procurement strategies;
•    Experience with procurement processes and systems;
•    Experience in procurement E-tools, bidding, contracting etc
•    Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross functional team
•    Experience in Manufacturing, fiber manufacturing is a plus;

 

Required Skills
•    Strong leadership and team management skills.
•    Excellent negotiation and knowledge of strategic sourcing processes
•    Knowledge of procurement and supplier management and supply chain best practices. 
•    Strong communications skills: Able to communicate effectively and appropriately both written and verbal with internal and external colleagues. 
•    Financial, business, Should Cost and Total Cost of Ownership analysis and communication using spreadsheets, Power Point etc.
•    Knowledge of commodity based raw materials and markets, Industry gases, chemical materials, Resin and etc.
•    Fluent written and oral English
