Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day to Day Responsibility  

•    Continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
•    Responsible for ECN screening
•    Support other manufacturing functions assigned by supervisor from time to time  
•    Complete assigned projects that include working process improvement, material utilization optimize and assigned specific department coordinator’s work.
•    Provide day-to-day technical support & problem-solving for production, development and research operations, like localization, material substitution, etc. 
•    Train trainer on new equipment and processes
•    Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps
•    Function as a team member or team leader on focused projects
•    Implement and document material, process and/or equipment changes

Ensure the manufacturing process is aligned to the documented standard

Continuously monitor and analyze process performance data to provide early warning of deviations and ensure process is operating to expected global standards

Identify, propose, and evaluate changes to the process to improve control, stability and efficiency

Implement local changes to the global process standard in accordance with the global change management process 

•    Create and modify product assembly drawings. Create and modify drawings as part of raw material specifications
•    Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement; Uses more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement
•    Lead new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training
•    Develop SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering
•    Drive continuous improvement of existing products and processes     

Complete assigned projects that include product evolutions, process improvements, and modifications to existing products to meet customer requirements. 

Support of production, quality control, and purchasing by evaluating discrepancies with materials, communicating with suppliers, and troubleshooting as needed. 

Meet plant cost reduction goals through process and productivity improvements and efficiently managing consumables and operating supplies

•    Quick response for new product requirement from customer include the sample delivery and process development and cost analysis.
•    Create and maintain BOM for regular products

Establish new Bills of Materials (BOM) and update existing BOM’s as required

Routine BOM issue for error free operation

Establish a BOM tracking system from products inquiry to the end of products shipping.

Maintain and update plant BOM record and related documentation as the latest.

•    Routine Maintenance and check 

Maintain the correct routine in PTS/QAD system.

Check the routine before release the WO.

•    Order Review  

Provide a close support to SCM and customer service for order review/inquiry to ensure the on-time delivery.

Education & Experience  
-    Bachelor of Chemical or Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
-    At least 5 years experiences in process engineering or other related manufacturing engineering area including process, material, mechanical and Chemical.


Required Skills. Competencies, or Certification

Required by Legal or QEHS:

-    Know EHS relevant law and regulations 
-    Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements).

 

Competencies (knowledge, skills, and behaviors)
-    DMAIC practice experience
-    Track record of delivering results
-    Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field
-    Project team membership
-    Familiar with ERP system. 
-    Familiar with quality, EH&S management system such as ISO9001, ISO14001.
-    Familiar with process/quality/cost control and improvement tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, TQM, IE, seven quality tools, MCV etc.
-    Good written and oral English communication.
-    Good PC skills such as Microsoft office. 
-    Communication and interpersonal skill
-    Self-motivate, independent, willing to work under pressure.
