Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

• Lead product and process transfers between OCS plants • Utilize statistical techniques (DOE, SPC), manufacturing intelligence data, and DMAIC methodologies to develop process understanding to support robust manufacturing processes. • Ensure product integrity by recommending approval of engineering changes in product design and process. Ensure plant bills of materials and routings are consistent with the master design documents. • Lead or participate in projects for cost reduction, process improvements to address quality and yield issues, or reduce production cycle times. • Author process improvement capability plans. Complete technical reports for internal publication. • Ensure quality issues caused by process issues or product performance are addressed through improvement projects and design change. Product Quality Architecture should be updated as necessary. • Identify gaps in manufacturing capabilities and make recommendations to improve. Support those improvements. Included in this are programs in TPM and LEAN implementation. Identify and act on best practices globally. • Visibly support the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment. • Standardize processes across multiple plants
