Day to Day Responsibilities: 

Design, Track China glass trends and emerging technology; 

Develop the innovative glass fabrication process; 

Build understanding on glass manufacturing process and identify manufacturing quality improvement opportunities; 

Explore glass application in industries and identify the technology needs; 

Support customer problem solving; 

Build liaison with global RDE team, especially glass R&D groups in US and Europe; 

Actively file IP and write Internal Reports.


Education & Experience 

MS with >3yr experience or higher degree in materials science, chemical engineering, geology or equivalent 

>2yrs experience in glass area Required Skills 

Experienced in glass research or glass industry 

Experienced in lab-scale, pilot and volume manufacturing processes used in fabrication of glass; 

Fundamental knowledge of the chemistry, raw materials, properties (mechanical, physical, chemical, etc), and characterization methods used to understand advanced complex glasses. 

Able to provide guidance on glass selection or development needs for advanced applications; 

Self-motivated and able to drive technical solutions with minimal direction; 

The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly 

Creative/innovative problem solving 

Good at hands-on experimentation, project leadership 

Effective communication and presentation skills to all levels in the organization
