Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Description

-             Developing Strategic Sourcing plans and objectives (short & long term) based on forecasts of future demand and taking into account economic and currency trends and conditions that affect GSM, the business, and the global contract manufacturing (CM) portfolio

-             Working with the Business, CM category management, and Buyers on assigned global CM portfolio to prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions

-             Developing and reviewing specifications, statements of work, performance terms and accept/reject criteria

-             Conducting negotiations with potential and/or current major suppliers to obtain maximum value

-             Leading the development and communication of global supply intelligence for contract manufacturing and associated commodities

-             Leading the Supplier Relationship Management process for CM 

-             Developing and cultivating effective relationships with suppliers

-             Developing, maintaining and executing Shared Objectives and Service Level Agreements

 

Required Skills

-             Contract writing and management including reviewing and approving with a deep understanding of how to write a contract will a dedication to our policies and systems.

-             Ability to act as an influential liaison across groups to quickly find common ground and build consensus

-             Confronts difficult situations while keeping emotions under control and maintaining objectivity

-             Uses negotiation skills to resolve conflicts

-             MUST BE FLUENT IN English: “be able to discuss and negotiate technical specifications and terms and conditions in English”

 

Desired Skills

-             Experience across multiple businesses, divisions and/or technologies

-             Experience with global manufacturing and business through work or project experience

-             Experience working in a matrix environment

-             SAP

-             Project Management

 

Education & Experience required

-             Bachelor’s Degree
