Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.


Position Description


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead in cross-functional strategy projects: define project issues / scope, develop hypothesis & analytical plan, manage project schedule, conduct research and analysis, develop strategic options, communicate results to executives in a Steering Team and participate in strategy execution as needed (Typical strategy projects topic include, but not limited to growth strategy, competitive strategy, commercial strategy, investment business case, technology trend analysis, and industry scenario analysis)
  • Lead (or work closely with corp. functions) in potential business development projects   (e.g. M&A, alliance & partnership) relating to new or existing business or services innovation
  • Utilize advanced analytic tools, process rigor and appropriate cross functional participation to confirm quality, depth and consistency of strategic decisions
  • Rely on financial analysis, market and competitive intelligence, statistical analysis and technical understanding to buttress strategy, leverage professional researchers as needed
  • Work closely with global senior division managers and functional leaders
  • Represents the organization as the prime contact on contracts and projects while external vendors and/or stakeholders are involved. . 


Travel Requirements: 30% subject to project



Education & Experience

  • MBA degree from a top MBA school majoring in strategy, marketing, finance or operations
  • 4~7 year experience in strategy, marketing, finance or business development, preferably at a top-tier consulting firm or an in-house strategy department at major multinational companies
  • MNC business development experience is a plus

  • Proven track record in developing business-level strategies
  • Industry experience in Business-to-Business global technology markets
  • Strong analytical skills and affinity for process rigor
  • Outstanding presentation and communication & influencing skills
  • Strong project management and teamwork skills
  • Ability to create alignment and action plans to support strategies
  • English fluency.
