Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

•    Oversee and manage supplier quality performance, conduct supplier audits, and ensure supplier compliance with quality standards.
•    Collaborate with suppliers to identify and rectify quality issues. Apply problem-solving techniques, Six Sigma tools, statistical analysis, and other methodologies to improve supplier quality.
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce cost, and improve supply chain efficiency.
•    Supplier Development: Develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers. Train suppliers on quality requirements and monitor their performance.
•    Review supplier manufacturing processes; collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to define process parameters and ensure supplier processes meet quality requirements.
•    Ensure proper documentation of supplier quality data, audits, non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality tests.
•    Ensure suppliers comply with relevant regulations and standards in their products and processes.
•    Manage projects related to supplier quality, including new supplier qualification, process changes, and corrective action implementation.
•    Ensure product integrity through execution of the product quality architecture strategy (APQP and IATF Core Tools).
•    Perform Quality System, Process, and Product Audits using applicable quality standards and specifications to ensure compliance with Corning Quality Requirements.
•    Collaborate with various Corning Supplier Quality teams.
•    Provide periodic progress updates on roadmap execution.

Education & Experience

•    Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. 
•    3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Management and Supplier Development.
•    Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification, or equivalent preferred.
•    DMAIC green belt certification preferred.
•    English proficiency, both oral and written.

Required Skills

•    Strong knowledge of quality systems and industry standards.
•    Certificate for the certified auditors of ISO9001 management systems is preferred. 

Desired Skills

•    Proficient in quality-related tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and other continuous improvement techniques. (SPC,8D,QC 7 Tools, MSA, LEAN, DOE’s variation reduction). 
•    Excellent problem-solving and project management skills. 
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Soft Skills

•    Having excellent leadership, management, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
•    Good organizational and coordination skills and possessing a high sense of responsibility and 
•    professional ethics.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
