Day to Day Responsibilities:
•    Contract manufacturing process support under the supervision of related glass Transfer and Application Engineering teams.  
•    Support contract manufacturing technical activities and yield improvement.
•    New product qualification and migration to mass production.
•    Work with QA to define/improve key attributes for quality of customer.
•    Provide profession in problem solving, and technical expertise, to ensure timely resolution of short-term equipment issues, and troubleshooting.
•    Provide general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understand theories and fundamentals), capable of getting to root cause of issues, and put permanent solutions in place
•    Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes.
•    Uses simple statistical tools (Minitab, JMP, or XPC Excel) and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement; Uses more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement.
•    Assure quality and repeatability of processes and products.
•    Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training.
•    Assures safety of operators and equipment and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
•    Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
•    Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC, MEE) projects in line with business
objectives.

 

Education:
•    Bachelor or higher degree, major in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Material Engineering related.

 

Required Skills & Experience: 
•    1~2 years of engineering experience in glass finishing field(cover glass or touch panel) is prefer.
•    Familiar with CNC, Polish, IOX, Inking, etc.. process is plus.
•    Good written and spoken English skill.
•    Basic statistics and reporting capability.
•    Proficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and
process/product improvement.
•    Glass finishing experience and leadership skill.
•    Significant experience communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
•    Lean Fundamentals.
•    Track record of delivering results.
•    Broad manufacturing and engineering experiences. 
•    Exposure to contract manufacturing. 
•    Green Belt certification preferred.
•    Knowledge of Innovation Stage-gate processes.
