Role Purpose
To support Gorilla Glass Solutions coating business growing in Asia Pacific, facilitate technologies development and process optimization with Development team, coordinate technologies transfer to coating finisher.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Gorilla Glass Solutions coating development.
- Support technology transfer to coating finisher.
- Support new product qualification and ramping up.
- Develop BOK (Body of knowledge) of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
- Problem solving and process improvement using structured problem-solving methods such as KT, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma.
- Coordinate coating machine installation, debugging and initial operation of new equipment and systems.
- Provide disciplined project leadership across multiple stages of innovation for new product, process, cost reduction and capacity improvement initiatives.
- Document and track activities, scope changes and lessons learned.
- Work with research & development teams for new coating and product development and introductions.
Experiences/Education - Required
- MS/BS Degree in Optics, Physics, Optoelectronics, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry etc.
- Prefer to have more than 5 years’ thin film manufacturing and designing experience.
- Prefer to know at least one tool of TFCalc, Macleod, Optilayer, etc.
- Prefer to have experience of using Ellipsometer and fitting results.
- Familiar with Magnetron Sputtering, PVD and other thin film deposition methods
- Familiar with Drum Coater, Batch Coater, Inline Coater or other thin film deposition equipment
- Project leading or involvement experience.
- Broad manufacturing and engineering experiences with optical products production, troubleshooting and yield improvement.
- Teamwork personality, ability to collaborate on projects with other team members.
- Good maneuvering with Excel, PPT, Minitab and other data analyzing tools.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Team leader experience
- Experience in working with glass and ceramic.
- Team facilitation skills when leading efforts with colleagues of various disciplines.
- Good oral and writing English skill.
- Experience of working with manufacturing.
- Knowledge of process control/process discipline, SPC, DOE and Statistics methods.
- New coating/PVD machine installation expansion experience.
- Project management experience.
- Cross-cultural Sensitivity.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environment and good team-player.
