Finisher Applications Engineer,

Role Purpose

• Serve as the primary technical interface between Corning and assigned Finisher customers, supporting Gorilla Glass product introduction, qualification, design-in, mass production, and specific project development.
• Responsible for maintaining relationships and strengthening technical engagements with finisher customers for the Gorilla Glass business.
• New Glass Technical Transfer/Cover Glass Parts/Finishing/ Process development/Troubleshooting in Finisher customers
• Focusing on process collection, troubleshooting onsite, report summary, data collection and analysis
• Provide product training and technical support on cover glass IOX, finishing, and process optimization for performance improvement, while understanding customer needs and technical trends and collecting VOC

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the team, including personally involved, to engage external customers technically and drive related execution.
• Handle customer technical issues and build up working relationships
• Coordinates with sales team to ensure seamless support and service to the customer;
• Deliver solutions to resolve technical issues and escalate to appropriate level if necessary;
• Negotiate and close technical specifications with customers;
• Manage Cover Glass parts, glass finishing business and process;
• Develops knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering;
• Problem solving and process improvement using structured problem-solving methods;
• Coordinate project resources to achieve project deliverables and timeline;
• Deliver solutions to meet technical requirements, resolve technical issues, and escalate to the appropriate level when necessary

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor or master’s degree with Material Engineering, Physics, Chemistry.
• 5 years of onsite working experience in Mobile Phone business, glass finishing industry, cover glass cutting/polishing/coating, LCD, Touch Panel, semiconductor business.
• CET4 or above.
