The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

Day to Day Responsibilities

1.    Daily maintenance to prevent manufacturing disruptions.
•    Drive product quality through product data ownership and product qualification activities.
•    Maintain and repair/renew our assets including molds and equipment, to be sure our assets are well managed. Check and cycle count our assets list per timely manner.
•    Ensure strong utilization of engineering change controls and effectively manage and minimize end of life (EOL) issues.
•    Check and update BOM in system on time, liaise with planner/buyer for ensuring the released purchase orders have BOM and spec for production. 
•    Maintain and extend our EMs’ capability, focusing on cable assembly process, includes more connector and cable type.
•    Provide right product drawings, spec and raw materials for GSM on time to outsource the product when needed.
•    Bridge EM and PE when our EMs have questions on the product drawings, spec, manufacturing process and help to clarify the questions.
•    Drive the qualification and provide the qualification result to PE for review per business plan.
2.    Drive continuous improvement and EM strategy execution.
•    Participate in business strategy build up and ensure our strategy and objectives aligned with overall business plan.
•    Ensure our strategy implemented at our EMs without any deviation, understand our EMs’ needs and support our EMs to execute our strategy and objectives.
•    Collaborate and prioritize our resource on new business and product opportunities drive by market requirements.
•    Focusing on engineering cost reduction initiatives and follow up, deliver cost reduction and support other functions for cost reduction.
•    Support quality team to drive root cause analysis, evaluate the corrective actions from EMs, provide support to EM for CAPA process.
•    Drive continuous improvement for packaging, product yield, material replacement and automation implementation, EOL control, etc.
•    Drive continuous improvement on engineering related EM scorecard, provide guidance, work with EM to improve the performance.
3.    Drive capability build up and ready for future. 
•    Leverage PEx tools to management NPI, deliver results within budget and schedule with team support.
•    Support GSM and quality team to evaluate the new EMs and help to improve the capability of existing EM.
•    Maintain and the EM capability database, raise qualification request for future opportunities.
•    Lead/coordinate the qualification at EM side, deliver the qualification results on time to meet customer demand. 
4.    Reporting and Score cards
•    Weekly NPI status updates
•    Engineering based cost reduction projects and status update
•    Engineering projects and other projects update
•    Team development review

Education & Experience

  •   Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a must.
  •   At least 5 years’ experience working with a US based MNC in Engineering functions.
  •   At least 3 years’ experience in External Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, managing supplier and vendors, OEM, ODM or related supplier management experience.
  •   Project management experience with hands on experience on how to use project management methodologies to manage multifunctional, multilocation projects.
  •   Experience in managing manufacturing in high-mix low volume manufacturing. 

Required Skills

  •    Fluent English speaking/writing is a must.
  •    Experience for engineering data management system, windchill is a plus.
  •    Experience in MS office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) etc.
  •    Flexibility to work across multiply time-zone in multiple languages, flexibility to balance the working time between US calendar and Chinese calendar.
  •    Ability to travel (up to 20%) to EM sites in East and Central Asia to coordinate manufacturing activities.
  •    Ability to manage the team remotely

  •     Good communication and negotiation skill.
  •     Good understanding of culture different between different countries.
  •     Attention to detail, passion for processes improvement, systems, and data handling.
  •     Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high-energy environment.
