Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The role designs, enhances, integrates, and supports SAP solutions that enable key business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. This role works closely with business stakeholders and IT to deliver reliable, and scalable solutions while ensuring smooth day-to-day application operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES::
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and system solutions.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of SAP solutions for manufacturing and supply chain processes, ensuring alignment with business and IT requirements.
- Provide day-to-day support for SAP applications, interfaces, and critical business processes.
- Support process improvements and new capabilities across manufacturing systems integration and business process automation.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, support procedures, process flows, and known issues.
- Troubleshoot incidents, analyze root causes, and coordinate issue resolution.
EXPERIENCES/EDUCATION – REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of end-to-end business processes with focus on manufacturing and logistic areas.
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in gathering business requirements and supporting solution delivery.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively bridge business and IT
- Hands-on experience working in Agile teams, with demonstrated project management skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with ERP-MES integrations, machine interfaces, and data exchange mechanisms.
- Exposure to testing, documentation, and release management practices.
- Experience with Java or ABAP; experience with SAP S/4HANA would be an advantage.
- Understanding of ITIL-based support processes and tools such as ServiceNow.
- Experience supporting projects, deployments, or regional/global rollouts.
- Familiarity with Lean principles would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Chinese or Spanish would be an advantage.
