Role Purpose
The Environmental Product Compliance Specialist will collaborate with the Product Environmental Compliance Manager to monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations across all product lines and geographical regions. This position will focus on monitoring regulations, screening them for applicability, and reporting when required by the regulation. This role reports directly to the Environmental Product Compliance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Global Compliance Program: Assist in the development and documentation of a comprehensive global product environmental compliance program aligned with Corning’s processes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements..
- Monitor Environmental Regulations: Continuously monitor environmental regulations and standards to ensure compliance across all product lines and geographical regions.
- Screen Regulations for Applicability: Analyze and screen regulations for applicability to the company's products and operations. Ability to read legal language is a nice-to-have skill.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit reports as required by environmental regulations, collaborate with consultants on registrations and reporting. Address inquiries from customers related to sustainability
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, procurement, supply chain, legal, and regulatory affairs to assure environmental product compliance of Corning products sold to external customers.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, consultants, to foster partnerships, share best practices, provide information on environmental product compliance regulations and advocate for sustainable solutions.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, quality, product stewardship, or related fields, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of global environmental regulations and standards, particularly related to inputs/hazardous substances, product end-of-life management, packaging.
- Minimum basic ability to read and interpret legal language.
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, and develop practical solutions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemistry or related field.
- Knowledge of Polish and English, both spoken and written.
