Purpose of Position: 

 

Automation & digitalization will be key for future differentiation and for continuous optimization in manufacturing. A SCADA / Industry 4.0 Engineer introduces new equipment & systems, processes improvements and cost reduction projects and drives digital transformation (Industry 4.0). 
 
Responsibilities:

 

• Develop and maintain standardized automation systems and technologies and advanced Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) as well as related software applications
• Interface automated manufacturing equipment with manufacturing execution systems (MES)
• Provide appropriate and timely technical advice on matters relating to SCADA systems and manufacturing data systems
• Providing engineering technical expertise to ensure the operational reliability of SCADA systems
• Work with automation equipment vendors to design/document equipment interface specifications
• Solicit and document Voice of Customer from manufacturing sites
• Collaborate with Process engineering to determine and provide process data to data historians at appropriate time intervals
 
Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent. 
• Knowledge of SCADA (GE iFix, Ignition, or similar) and control systems and components
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) like S7, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley
• Programming skills (VBA, C# or similar)
• Experience integrating automated manufacturing equipment with plant Information Management Systems (IMS)
• Ability to effectively prioritize and plan activities, work on multiple concurrent tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Good English skills in written and verbal form
• Ability to travel globally (25%)
