For our location in Strykow, Poland (alternatively Berlin, Germany), we are looking for a 

 

Lead, EMEA OFC Sourcing (m/f/d)

 

Role Purpose:

The Lead, EMEA OFC Sourcing is responsible for the strategic sourcing of several cable raw material categories (“ORM”) and cooperates with multiple functions on the plant level, regional level and in GSM.

Responsibilities include the overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for the buying and delivery of materials. Primary areas include procurement and contracting, materials management, logistics operations, supply intelligence, supplier management, transportation and distribution.

Personal and business Objectives include identifying and driving cost reduction opportunities while assuring supply.

The position reports directly to the Manager, EMEA OFC Procurement and is part of the Global Supply Management network.

 

Working location:

  • Strykow, alternatively Berlin.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of GSM's strategic sourcing strategies for assigned complex commodities that align with the business units, commercial, supply chain and manufacturing strategies.
  • Continuously identify and pursue negotiation opportunities, e.g. by using competitive intelligence and market data.
  • Lead the resolution process when critical situations occur, including claim management (supply disruptions, quality issues, invoicing issues).
  • Identify and onboard alternative suppliers.
  • Lead the cross-functional KT decision analysis process.
  • Negotiate sourcing conditions (e.g. via ARIBA eAuction).
  • Create risk mitigation analysis and prioritize actions to close gaps.
  • Own, create and maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Represent GSM in cross-functional project teams.
  • Collect data and analyze supplier performance and spend data.

 

Requirements:

  • Academic Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or alike.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Very good command of English language.
  • Good knowledge of SAP R/3, MS Office software (EXCEL).
  • Understands the importance and value of open communication and sharing of information.
  • Understanding of Supplier Cost Structures.
  • Legal knowledge and contract negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
