Purpose of the position:

Enhance the customer experience by developing robust configuration tools that incorporate a wide array of business intelligence to minimize mistakes, maximize profits, and reduce lead time and costs.


Day to Day Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of solution development and maintenance.  Provide a leadership role on the governance of configurator usage and innovation.
  • Organize and lead meetings with subject matter experts in Product Line Management, Marketing, Customer Service, and Manufacturing to gather information necessary to build configurators that meet business requirements.
  • Analyze the conversion of business requirements into functional processes within the business intelligence system.  For Variant Configurators, it involves the development of characteristics and dependencies to capture the logic required to meet the business requirements.  In addition, analyst is responsible for communicating concerns with business processes that may hamper the functionality of the final solution and provide better alternatives.  
  • Develop Variant Configuration models, characteristics, their values, dependencies, classes, super BOM’s and super routers to be configured in the system.  Technical mastery of the VC tools will be required to perform this function as expected.
  • Manage the effort to thoroughly test and validate the quality of the final solution.  This will involve the development of structured test plans, coordination of training for testing participants, and review of the final results.
  • Organize all aspects of the training of Customer Service Representatives, Product Line Management representatives, and others who will be using the final solution.  This will include the development of training documentation, providing individual support, and facilitating hands-on practice sessions.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop innovative solutions to unique problems.  Foster growing interest in using business intelligence tools to improve daily activities.
  • Provide continual maintenance on configurators.  Assess requests for maintenance and follow standard development and Data Maintenance Organization procedures to implement new updates to the tools



Required Skills:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer Science desired
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in programming and SAP
  • Extensive module development in Access or Excel
  • Effective understanding of the process required to translate the analog style of business information into digital logic.
  • Use a PC and associated software; spreadsheets, word processing, charts, databases
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic business/manufacturing environment
  • Capable of prioritizing and completing multiple tasks
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and solve complex process problems
  • Ability to change priorities and tasks when necessary
  • Ability to direct and work with people using excellent interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral

  • SharePoint experience
  • Code development in primary languages such as C++, Java, VB
