MSI Software Engineer

Role Purpose

The measurements software organization develops, integrates, and sustains software applications for measurement system platforms that enable Global Manufacturing to characterize products, verify compliance, and support consistent operational performance across regions.

The Measurement Systems Software Engineer supports the design, development, implementation, deployment, and sustainment of software solutions used in engineering and manufacturing environments.  As part of a global team, this role contributes to the reliability, standardization, connectivity, and continuous improvement of measurement software platforms and related back-end systems.

Key Responsibilities

•    Collaborate with development teams, manufacturing teams, and other cross-functional partners to understand requirements, expected behavior, and regional implementation needs.
•    Work closely with these teams to define, develop, and implement product measurement systems.
•    Support implementation and sustainment of new software releases across global manufacturing environments.
•    Identify, document, and track defects using standard tools.
•    Validate data flow between software, instruments, databases, and other related systems.
•    Assist with troubleshooting measurement and related systems.
•    Prepare and maintain test records, develop and release documents, work instructions, and other materials that support standardization and sustainment.

Required Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related field.
•    Engineer II: 2–4 years of experience
•    Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
•    Working knowledge and experience in programming languages such as C#, VB.Net, Python, or similar.
•    Basic understanding of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
•    Working knowledge and experience in basic SQL statements such as Select, Insert, and Update.
•    Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment.
•    Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural, remote teams.
•    Effective communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Scientific curiosity, inventive mindset, and understanding of manufacturing principles and environments.
•    Familiarity with version control systems and defect tracking tools.
•    Experience in RS232, USB, GPIB, or Ethernet interfacing to data acquisition or control hardware.
•    Understanding of manufacturing, test, or industrial software environments.
•    Experience working with cross-functional or global teams in a manufacturing environment.
•    Applied knowledge of measurement systems or fiber optic test environments is a plus.

Travel Requirements:
•    0-10% travel domestic and international (Mexico, USA, Poland)
