The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

This role owns the development and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) Strategic Sourcing strategies, policies, tactics, and objectives for a complex global contract manufacturing portfolio. The position is responsible for ensuring alignment with OCS and CMD business unit strategies, as well as commercial and supply chain objectives.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will drive supplier performance, mitigate supply risks, optimize total cost of ownership, and support business growth through strategic supplier partnerships and contract manufacturing footprint development across the EMEA region.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic Sourcing&Category Management

 

  • Develop a sustainable strategic contract manufacturing footprint strategy with a focus on the EMEA region.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term Strategic Sourcing plans and objectives based on future demand forecasts, market conditions, economic trends, and currency impacts.
  • Drive sourcing strategies that support business growth, supply continuity, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the development and communication of global supply intelligence related to contract manufacturing and associated commodities.

 

Supplier selection & contract management

 

  • Partner with Business Contract Manufacturing Management, GSM Contract Manufacturing as a Service, and Supply Chain teams to prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals.
  • Develop and review specifications, statements of work, performance requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with current and prospective suppliers to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

Supplier relationship management

 

  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for key contract manufacturing partners.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and risk mitigation meetings with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Establish, maintain, and execute Shared Objectives and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

 

Cross - functional leadership

 

  • Collaborate with business, supply chain, manufacturing, and commercial stakeholders across the organization.
  • Influence decision-making and build alignment among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Support strategic initiatives through market intelligence, supplier insights, and sourcing expertise.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain role.
  • Experience in contract manufacturing sourcing and/or sourcing of metals, resins, raw materials, or components.
  • Strong contract writing, review, negotiation, and management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across multiple functions.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations while maintaining professionalism, objectivity, and sound judgment.
  • Fluent in English and German, with the ability to negotiate technical specifications, commercial terms, and contractual agreements in both languages.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working across multiple businesses, functions, technologies, or divisions.
  • Experience supporting global manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working within a matrix organization.
  • Strong SAP knowledge.
  • Project Management experience.

 

TRAVEL:

  • Approximately 30% domestic and international travel.
  • Travel may include supplier visits, business reviews, contract negotiations, manufacturing sites, and cross-functional project meetings.
