Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement testing solutions and measurement equipment/test systems for optical components 
  • Lead, execute and support projects in areas of metrology, optical/dimensional testing of optical components and systems
  • Collaborate with project team members and subject matter experts to design and execute experiments driving fundamental process understanding across a wide range of technologies
  • Drive understanding of new metrological technology and measurement techniques to ensure that measurement capabilities meet the technical roadmaps
  • Project management across process, technology, and measurement development deliverables
  • Work in international multidisciplinary project groups
  • Study new trends of fiber optic technologies
  • Provide high innovation intensity (filed patents / published papers / presentations)

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Technical Bachelor or Master Degree (preferred in, optoelectronics, mechanical engineering, optical physics, electronics or similar) 
  • Experience delivering solutions based on statistical analysis and structured problem solving methods
  • Experience with measurement technology development, implementation, and application
  • Strong data analysis skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Programming skills (Matlab, LabView, VB, C/C++, Python, PLC will be an asset )
  • Very good communication and global team working skills
  • Creativity
  • Passion for innovation
