Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
WHAT YOUR TASKS WILL BE:
- Participate in the design of new and adaptation of existing products in international design groups
- Work closely with development and product engineers to implement new products into the manufacturing process
- Implementing modern solutions (Augmented Reality) to support design processes and communication with external and internal customers
- Implementation and presentation of own ideas
- Developing prototypes
- Supporting other departments in collaborative projects
WHAT WE EXPECT:
- Higher education, preferred majors: Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and related fields
- Knowledge of one of the leading 3D CAD environments, PTC CREO Parametric preferred
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, strength of materials and FEM analysis
- Knowledge of precision mechanics will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of GD&T methodology will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the principles of preparing technical documentation
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal forming and injection molding process of plastic parts
- Basic knowledge of 3D printing
- Analytical skills at a basic level
- Knowledge of English at the level of free communication in speech and writing
- Communication skills, conscientiousness, commitment and high personal culture
- Conceptual sketching skills will be an added advantage
