Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, development, and industrialization of advanced photonic connectivity products and technologies, from concept generation through prototyping, validation, qualification, and production launch.
- Design and optimize optical, optomechanical, and manufacturing processes for fiber optic assemblies, photonic packaging, and precision optical components.
- Drive technology development and build fundamental understanding using scientific and engineering methodologies including DoE, Six Sigma, FMEA, Process Capability Analysis etc.
- Research and evaluate emerging photonic technologies, optical materials, packaging concepts, and manufacturing methods together with performing experimental characterization and analysis of optical and optoelectronic systems.
- Identify intellectual property opportunities and contribute to patent disclosures, technical publications, and innovation initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends in silicon photonics, optical transceivers, co-packaged optics, high-density optical connectivity, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to develop robust and scalable photonic solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optoelectronics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Physics, Precision Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Solid understanding of photonics, fiber optics, optical communication systems, and optoelectronic devices together with knowledge on fiber optics concepts. Experience with development, assembly, or testing of optical products, photonic components, or precision electromechanical systems would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of optical measurement techniques and laboratory equipment such as Power Meters, Interferometers, Microscopes, Vision Systems, and related test platforms.
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and translate findings into product or process improvements. Familiarity with problem-solving and statistical analysis tools like DoE, JMP, KT, FMEA would be highly beneficial
- Creativity, curiosity, and passion for developing innovative optical technologies.
- Fluent English and Polish, both written and spoken together with ability to communicate effectively within multi-national groups.
