Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

As the Cable Assemblies EN Product Line Specialist (DCBU), you will independently manage a defined portion of the cable assemblies business in EMEA. In this role, you will drive the product portfolio, related services, and commercial actions to deliver profitable growth while managing complexity across the full business lifecycle—from long-term strategic planning to the execution of individual customer orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Part ownership of the full lifecycle of the portfolio, from requirements management through product development, market introduction, manufacturing, supply chain coordination, and end-of-life planning, with a strong emphasis on pre-launch activities.
  • Deliver product training, represent the product line to customers and distribution partners, and ensure the availability and accuracy of product data, supported by a strong understanding of markets, applications, and competitive dynamics.
  • Use analytical thinking, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and AI-enabled tools to connect diverse perspectives and data points, build a holistic view of the business, and lead cross-functional teams toward aligned decisions that support both customer needs and business objectives.
  • Maintain the integrity of the part numbering structure in collaboration with the product data governance team to support standardization, quality, scalability, and operational efficiency, ultimately improving quotation speed, order accuracy, and the overall customer experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required Education: Master’s Degree
  • Required Years and Area of Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience

 

Required Skills:

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across the organization
    • Fluent written and spoken English
    • Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, analyze data, and support decision-making across product management activities

Desired Skills:

    • MBA or equivalent business experience
    • Experience managing people
    • Financial analysis and accounting experience
    • Experience in commercial, manufacturing, technology, or strategy functions
    • International business work experience
    • Participation in or leadership of multicultural and/or multi-geographic projects

 

Travel Requirements: 10-20% approximate annual travel
