Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

The Reporting Analyst owns the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of governed, scalable reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across manufacturing and business operations.

The role partners with stakeholders across manufacturing, finance, commercial, supply chain, operations, engineering, and IT to understand business processes, define reporting requirements, and translate complex data into trusted insights. The Reporting Analyst serves as the bridge between business users and enterprise data platforms, ensuring decision-makers have timely, accurate, and accessible information to manage performance, identify opportunities, and drive operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, semantic models, datasets, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations.
• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into report specifications, KPI definitions, semantic models, and visualization requirements.
• Collaborate with Business Information Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects, and subject matter experts to understand business processes, data sources, and enterprise data models.
• Develop reporting solutions that are accurate, user-friendly, performant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise reporting standards.
• Validate reporting outputs against source systems and business expectations, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and trust in delivered analytics.
• Support data quality monitoring, reconciliation activities, and troubleshooting of reporting and refresh issues.
• Partner with manufacturing, finance, commercial, supply chain, operations, engineering, and IT stakeholders to understand reporting, analytics, and decision-support requirements.
• Drive KPI standardization and metric consistency across business functions and reporting solutions.
• Automate recurring reporting processes and reduce manual effort through reusable and sustainable analytics solutions.
• Document report logic, KPI definitions, business assumptions, data sources, refresh schedules, lineage, and known limitations.
• Enable business users through training, communication, documentation, and practical guidance on interpreting insights and using self-service reporting capabilities.
• Monitor report usage, gather stakeholder feedback, and continuously improve analytics solutions based on business value and adoption.
• Collaborate with the Business Information Architect to align reporting solutions with enterprise standards, governance practices, and long-term analytics strategy.

What You'll Need

• Strong business-analysis skills with the ability to understand manufacturing and business processes and translate requirements into analytics solutions.
• Advanced Power BI expertise, including dashboard development, semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, workspace management, security, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, validating, transforming, and analyzing data.
• Working knowledge of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or similar cloud analytics platforms and modern data architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with enterprise business systems such as MES, ERP, CRM, PLM and related platforms.
• Understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic layers, KPI design, and reporting best practices.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactive and relationship-driven mindset, comfortable working across multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, including backlog management, iterative development, testing, and user acceptance processes.
• Commitment to data accuracy, governance, and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, commercial, or customer-facing organizations.
• Exposure to Python for analytics, automation, data validation, or advanced reporting scenarios.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, or similar modern analytics platforms.
• Experience designing executive dashboards, operational scorecards, and performance management reporting.
• Knowledge of governed self-service analytics and report lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with data governance concepts, business glossaries, metadata management, and enterprise data catalogs.
• Understanding of manufacturing data domains such as production, inventory, quality, planning, logistics, and customer delivery performance.
• Exposure to AI-assisted analytics, Copilot, or advanced analytical capabilities.

• High-priority reporting and analytics solutions are delivered and actively adopted by business stakeholders.

• Manual reporting effort is reduced through automation, reusable datasets, and standardized reporting assets.
